Learn CocosWallet in 5 minutes — A Tutorial for Beginners
Cocos-BCX announced the launch of MainNet 1.0 “Gang Rinpoche” on December 12. During the same period, the official mobile wallet, CocosWallet also supports it. For your convenience and asset security, please read the official wallet tutorial below carefully.
I. Account System
1.1 download and install CocosWallet
First identify the QR code below, download and install CocosWallet.
1.2 Account Registration
Step 1: Click [Login / Create Account] on the homepage.
Step 2: Click [Register] in the upper right corner.
Step 3: Register an Account
Registering a basic account need to meet one of the following conditions:
Contains the numbers 0 ~ 9
Contains special characters”-”
Without letters “a, e, i, o, u, y”
There are two types of account registration modes: [Account Mode] and [Wallet Mode].
[Account Mode]: It supports two login methods of account and private key. Please be sure to manage account information and private key to ensure wallet security.
[Wallet Mode]: Only private key login is supported. Be sure to back up the private key to ensure wallet security.
Step 4: Save the private key. Be sure to save the private key after registeration
[Note] There are two types of Cocos-BCX private keys, each with different permissions.
Asset private key (active) Active permission set the account name or public key that has the permission to spend funds in this account.
Account private key (owner) Account permission set who can control this account. The controller (account name or public key) can modify individual settings related to the account, including permissions settings.
1.3 Login Account (Import Wallet)
Step 1: Click [Login / Create Account] on the homepage
Step 2: Enter the account password or wallet private key to log in
Because there are two modes,[Account Mode] and [Wallet Mode], in registeration, and we introduced [Account Mode] above to support account password and private key login, [Wallet Mode] only supports private key login. So there are still two options when logging in.
Select [Account Mode Login] to directly fill in the account name and password. In this case, only accounts created under [Account Mode] are supported.
[Already have a wallet, import] You can import either [asset private key] or [account private key] to login with different permissions. Then set a temporary password, which can be your account password.
Cocoswallet supports multiple account management. If you need to view or add more wallets, you can click on the upper right corner first, then click “+” to add.
- Wallet Functions
From the wallet page, we can see the total assets , transfers, receipts, resources, votes and my assets (COCOS).
2.1 Total assets
Currently register a mainnet account, you can get 0.1COCOS, according to the market price, so it is displayed as 0.000396 (￥).
2.2 Transfer
Note: When transferring, the recipient’s address is not a long list of addresses that common used, just fill in the account name of the recipient is fine.
2.3 Collection
Copy the account name or provide the payment QR code to the transferor.
2.4 Resources
Cocos-BCX adopts the GAS resource model in designing the fee model, introduced a specialized asset GAS for execution-driven metering of multiple transactions within the system. GAS assets cannot be traded or transferred.
GAS is obtained by freezing the balance of COCOS assets. The frozen portion of COCOS cannot be transferred or traded in any form until it is unfreezed. GAS assets are recovered linearly in time after use, and recovered to 100% of the frozen amount after 24 hours. The account needs to perform a collection operation to obtain the recovered GAS.
When mortgage, users can choose to give GAS to themselves or others.
2.5 Vote
Cocos-BCX continues to adopt the improved DPoS algorithm to recruit nodes in mainnet phase. Candidates need to get the top 11 votes to be elected as an active BP or council. To facilitate users to vote, it can also be done in the wallet.
2.6 My Assets
In “My Assets”, you can transfer and receive money, and check the transaction records.
- Discovery Page
In the “discovery page”, we can view Cocos-BCX official website, explorer, eco-products and popular games. If the popular game does not have the game you want to experience, please enter the official website of the DApp that launched in Cocos-BCX mainnet in the upper right corner.
- Me Page
There are five functions: asset overview, wallet management, system settings, contacts and about us on the “Me” page, . Here is a brief explanation.
4.1 Asset Overview
In the column, you can view the total assets, digital assets and non-homogeneous assets.
4.2 Wallet Management
Click Wallet Management, you can see multiple accounts.
Click any one of the accounts, you can view the public and private keys, reset the password, and log out of the account.
4.3 System Settings
Multiple operations can be performed in the system settings, such as language, which can be set to Chinese or English; network can be set to mainnet or testnet; currency units can be set to CNY or USD.
4.4 Contacts
If you frequently transfer money to someone, we can add their account to contacts, which can reduce certain operations. You need to fill in when adding a contact: contact name, note and wallet address (contact’s account name).
- Notice
- The account password cannot be retrieved once lost;
- You can change the account password with the old one;
- Modifying the account password will change the account private key and asset private key;
- At present, the CocosWallet supports the mainnet, which is not compatible with the testnet account and needs to be re-registered;
- At present, the CocosWallet supports the mainnet, and can store the main network COCOS. Currently, it does not support COCOS of ERC20, please do not transfer to the wallet;
- Cocos-BCX mainnet COCOS mapping will be carried out later, please stay tuned for the official news;
- The Crypto Knights game requires mortgage of the mainnet COCOS to obtain GAS for the experience. If you cannot play it, please contact customer service in telegram;
- To play games, you need to import the private key of the asset, and to receive GAS, you need to import the private key of the account.
